Dtech AS was established in 1999 as a result of several years of research and development within refridgeration engineering and drying technology for the food and nutrition industry. This work was carried out at the well-known research center SINTEF in Trondheim, Norway.

Today, Dtech AS is a market leader in atmospheric freeze drying technology, and seek to become the preferred supplier to a number of key providers of dried fruit and vegetables by commercialising several patents.

The unique atmospheric freeze drying technology has already been implemented at the Aroma Dry's factory in Hungary which aims to be a reliable and profitable producer of freeze dried corn and peas in Europe. This factory was finished spring 2005, and is currently 100 % owned by Dtech AS. In addition to this, Dtech AS make use of a pilot testing plant in Norway, Arctic Aroma, which are utilizing the same unique process.

Felleskjøpet Trondheim (agricultural supply co-operative) is at present the largest shareholder in Dtech as. The head-office of Dtech AS is situated in Trondheim.
